South Florida, December 2023
Port St. Lucie, FL (December 2023) – The Warrior’s Journey Golf once again delivered a powerful mission in South Florida, using golf as a vehicle for healing both physical and invisible wounds.
Hosted at PGA Golf Club, the PGA of America’s home course in Port St. Lucie, Director of Golf Holly Taylor and her outstanding team rolled out the red carpet for our wounded veterans in truly spectacular fashion. Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach once again welcomed us, where John Nieporte and his team created an unforgettable experience for all involved.
This mission featured an extraordinary lineup of PGA Professionals, true legends of the game. Bob Ford, Bob Dolan, Rob Schaal, Steve Parker, Mark Guttenberg, Leslie Guttenberg, and host PGA Professional Russ Holden provided world-class instruction and mentorship. They were joined by University of Tennessee golfer Kayla Holden, whose warmth, expertise, and care made a lasting impression on every veteran she worked with.
Our guest speakers delivered deeply impactful moments throughout the week. Renowned sports psychologist Steven Yellin led an exceptional educational seminar. Russ and Kayla Holden introduced the warriors to Golf Forever and the Rypstick, helping them build strength, consistency, and confidence. Dan Boever brought both laughter and insight during a memorable fireside chat alongside the PGA Professionals, while also sharing his unique gifts with the group.
World Golf Hall of Fame member Dennis Walters once again inspired us beyond words with his remarkable story and performance. Jeremy Garard delivered one of the most powerful presentations on overcoming adversity that many in attendance have ever experienced.
Kevin Weaver added tremendous value during our evening gathering with a meaningful presentation on The Warrior’s Journey and the critical work being done to support veterans after service.
The week concluded with Blue Angels pilot John “Gucci” Foley, who spent significant time connecting with the veterans. His leadership, presence, and heartfelt closing keynote left a lasting impact on everyone in the room. His message was clear and powerful — “Glad to Be Here.”
President Trump once again extended his support to our veterans. While unable to attend in person, he shared a personal message through John Nieporte that resonated strongly with the group.
Golf. The places you go, the people you meet, and the lessons you learn. And most importantly, the time you spend with your battle buddies!
