South Florida, December 2022

Port St. Lucie, FL (December 2022) – The Warrior’s Journey Golf returned for its second mission, delivering a significantly enhanced and deeply inspiring week for all involved.

Hosted at PGA Golf Club, the PGA of America’s home course, Director of Golf Holly Taylor and her outstanding team once again rolled out the red carpet for our wounded veterans in spectacular fashion. Trump International Golf Club also welcomed us back, where John Nieporte and his team created an unforgettable day for everyone in attendance.

Our instructional team delivered world-class guidance throughout the week. Led by PGA Professionals Russ Holden, Bob Ford, Rob Schaal, Mark Guttenberg, and Jack Shoenfelt, the warriors were exposed to elite-level coaching and mentorship. We were also grateful for the support of board members Bill Conwell and Kevin Pallone, who added tremendous value throughout the week.

The speaker lineup was exceptional and thoughtfully curated to meet the warriors where they were. Nicole Hage introduced GolfForever, providing insight into strength and longevity in the game. Brandon Canesi delivered a powerful message on overcoming adversity, sharing his incredible journey of playing golf despite being born without hands.

Randy Peitsch of PGA TOUR Superstore offered a unique look into the retail side of the game, while reinforcing the common bond that always brings us back – why we play, and why golf matters so much to our veterans.

Kevin Weaver highlighted one of our evening gatherings with a meaningful presentation on The Warrior’s Journey and its vital role in supporting veterans after service. Jonathan Gerard delivered one of the most powerful talks of the week, embodying what it means for a warrior to speak to warriors.

Alex Trujillo of FlightScope brought a technical perspective to the game, diving into ball flight and performance – while also sharing his own story as an injured U.S. Army veteran. Once again, a warrior speaking directly to warriors.

Dan Boever delivered his signature performance, bringing both humor and insight in a way only he can. His presence continues to be a cornerstone of our program and mission.

President Donald Trump personally welcomed our veterans, spending time with the group, posing for photos, and later signing 23 commemorative pieces – a meaningful and lasting gift for each participant.

World Golf Hall of Fame member Dennis Walters inspired everyone with a message that resonated deeply: If your dream doesn’t work out… get a new dream.

We closed the week with a memorable evening at EVO Italian, where Kid Rock made a surprise appearance, creating a once-in-a-lifetime moment for several of the warriors.

Fittingly, the final word belonged to Bob Ford, one of the most respected figures in the game. His career at Oakmont and Seminole speaks for itself – but it is his class, humility, and presence that left a lasting impression on all.

Golf. The places you go. The people you meet. The lessons you learn. And the time you spend with your battle buddies.
