ben bushong
I am honored to serve on the Advisory Council for The Warrior’s Journey Golf and support its mission to care for military members, veterans, and their families. I spent the majority of my military career in public affairs, including the privilege of serving with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, where I saw firsthand the power of connection, teamwork, and shared purpose.
Golf has long been a passion of mine and a meaningful way to build relationships beyond the uniform. I had the opportunity to meet Russ Holden during my time with the Blues, and our friendship has grown through the game of golf and a shared commitment to serving others. I’m grateful for the chance to combine my military background and love for the game to help expand The Warrior’s Journey impact.
Bill Conwell
My connection to The Warrior’s Journey Golf Initiative began in 2011 through an introduction to Russ Holden at a fundraising event in Charlotte, North Carolina. That experience revealed the unique power of golf as a platform for connection, healing, and purpose – especially in service to our nation’s veterans.
Since then, I have had the privilege of working alongside TWJG leadership on golf-centered initiatives that bring together veterans, players, caddies, sponsors, and supporters in meaningful and lasting ways. These experiences have reinforced my belief that golf can be a powerful catalyst for community, resilience, and impact.
After relocating to South Florida in 2017, I became more actively involved in advisory and event-based leadership roles supporting the growth of the TWJG Initiative.
I am honored to serve on the Advisory Board of The Warrior’s Journey Golf Initiative and look forward to continuing to advance this important mission.
Dr. MICHAEL COHEN
As a Vascular Surgeon who not infrequently operates on children, I am keenly aware of the importance of Philanthropy for Pediatric health care and research. When Russ Holden expressed his dream concept to me to raise money for Fanconi Anemia research and veteran support, I was struck by his passion and comitment, and the brilliance of the idea, perhaps in part due to our mutual love of caddying. I volunteered immediately to do whatever possible to help in his mission, and I am now honored to be on the Board of Directors of The Warrior’s Journey Golf.
STEVEN HAUG
I am truly excited about becoming a board member for Caddy for a Cure / Inspiring Warriors Golf. I’ve made it a personal goal to have a positive work and personal life balance. Becoming involved with Caddy for a Cure this early in my life is the perfect way to give back to those less fortunate and have personal fulfillment. I truly look forward to making an impact on those that benefit from Caddy for a Cure / Inspiring Warriors Golf.
MIKE HUMMEL
I serve on the Advisory Council of The Warrior’s Journey Golf out of deep respect and gratitude for the sacrifices made by our veterans. I come from a military family, and service has always been a value deeply ingrained in my life. I strongly believe in the power of golf as a tool for healing, connection, and renewed purpose. Supporting those who have served our country is deeply meaningful to me, and being part of this council allows me to give back in a way that aligns with my values. It is an honor to stand alongside these veterans, support their continued journey, and contribute my time and perspective to a cause rooted in service and resilience.
MAJOR GENERAL (Ret.) JAMES MYLES
United States Army – SENIOR Military Advisor to The Warrior’s Journey Golf
For the past 10 years I have had the great pleasure of observing the long-lasting impact that The Warrior’s Journey has had on our wounded veterans and their Families. Russ and Colleen Holden have made it happen through hard work, strong leadership and creating special memories for others. My experience “on the bag” with Rickie Fowler opened my eyes to something that is truly one of the great memories in all of golf. The net result of the TWJG efforts is a brighter future for many of our wounded warriors and their Families. I am honored to be a member of the Advisory Council and to serve as the TWJG Senior Military Advisor.
KEVIN PALLONE
I am a physical therapist committed to helping individuals heal, recover, and rediscover purpose through movement and connection. For many years, I served on the Board of Directors for Caddy for a Cure, supporting individuals and families facing life-altering medical challenges. That experience reinforced my belief that healing extends beyond physical recovery and requires community, compassion, and purpose. My transition to The Warrior’s Journey reflects that same calling – to support warriors through peer connection and holistic healing, addressing both the visible and invisible wounds of service. I am honored to continue serving in this role that empowers others to rebuild strength, resilience, and confidence in the next chapter of their lives.

Sarah Treacy
I am honored to serve on the Golf Advisory Committee for The Warrior’s Journey, dedicated to supporting military members, veterans, and their families as they navigate the unique challenges of military life and transition to civilian life.
Golf has always been a meaningful part of my family’s life — we enjoy playing together, watching the game, and appreciating the community it fosters. Originally from London, UK, I have lived in the United States for 16 years with my husband and our two children, and I am grateful for the opportunity to combine my love of golf with work that uplifts and strengthens our nation’s heroes. I look forward to supporting The Warrior’s Journey’s mission and helping grow its impact through the game we love.
JEFF WALSH
I have been very blessed by the Lord to have a wonderful wife and three healthy, beautiful boys. That perspective has given me a deep compassion for families facing serious challenges, and for the men and women who have sacrificed so much in service to our country. I have been friends with Russ and Colleen for a very long time, and their passion and drive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans and their families is incredibly touching. I wanted to be involved to give back in any way possible and hopefully make an impact on at least one life. God bless all of you who help support this mission.
WALTER WASNIESKI
I proudly serve on the Advisory Council of The Warriors Journey as prior board member of Caddy for a Cure . Being a Marine and having an Uncle who fought in Korea at the Chosin Reservoir and who battled PTSD for over 50 years it was something near & dear to me.
Being a proud Free Mason, our three tenants are “Faith, Hope & Charity” & the greatest of these are charity, we make sure we give to those who help others. We have donated money from the Grand Secretary’s Golf Classic a Masonic charity golf outing in NY State, to Caddy for a Cure and now to the Warriors Journey. Being able to help a US Military Veteran who may be battling “hidden wounds” such as possible suicide or alcohol & substance abuse is paramount in not only my life but that of my family as well, I have been sober for over 30 years and believe when anyone, anywhere reaches out I want a hand to be there to help them. Former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill once said “we make a living by what we earn but we make a life by what we give”. Seeing the great work that The Warriors Journey does makes me proud to apart of such an inspiring organization. The biggest reward we see is the smiles on the face of our Veterans and their families and seeing them live their best lives.
Kris Wilson
I am both humbled and honored to serve on the advisory council of The Warrior’s Journey Golf. My wife Keri and I have wholeheartedly supported this mission in all previous incarnations, and I am excited to serve in any capacity I can, having seen the effects of this amazing program.
As a husband, golf business owner, and father of three, I believe in giving back, and trying to serve others. The warriors Journey Golf has moved to the top of my list for several reasons. Most importantly, I have been fortunate enough to have a close-up look at what they do, and how they do it. I have witnessed the love, respect and integrity of both Kevin Weaver and Russ and Colleen Holden, for over a decade. I have enormous respect for the other members of the Warrior’s Journey Golf advisory council, and consider them family. I have met many of the Warriors we have served, and to say that every single one of them has left a huge impression on my life might be an understatement. Golf is something that brings people together. Golf is the perfect vehicle for The Warrior’s journey mission to assist those who have served, and help with issues they may face, up to and including potential suicide.
I am excited to see this program continue to grow, and excited to see and hear from our great service members who have and will participate in The Warriors journey, through Golf.

help heal invisible wounds
Invisible wounds don’t announce themselves. They’re carried silently, often long after service ends. Your generosity helps create spaces where warriors can reconnect, be understood, and receive the long-term aftercare they need to heal and move forward.
